Novotel Century Hong Kong is proud to be a Green Globe certified hotel. The hotel was certified in 2009, after a vigorous audit process, to certify that the operations of the Hong Kong boutique hotel focus on not only sustainability but also social responsibility in the local community. In addition to this, the hotel has participated in numerous events aimed at educating its staff and local community regarding environmental and social responsibilities.

To this end, Novotel launched the pilot phase of its Green Globe certification program in July 2007, which involves 28 hotels in 12 countries on 5 continents. The countries are: the United Kingdom, Switzerland, France, Brazil, Ivory Coast, India, China, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand. At present, Novotel has 30 certified hotels. Each hotel will be assessed on eight performance criteria in order to guarantee, among other things:
Thus, Novotel actively joins the fight against global warming. An audit will be carried out on each hotel in order for it to obtain Green Globe certification within 6 to 12 months. After certification, audits are conducted annually to ensure performance is maintained.
